Flyafrica.com has cancelled its flights today (July 25), Sunday (July 27) and Wednesday (July 30), following the cancellation of its inaugural flight on Wednesday (July 23) after a decision by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) to revoke the airline’s South African pilots’ validation to fly.
“We are unclear as to the reasons why our original issued validations were withdrawn at such late notice; however we are working with the CAAZ to understand this issue and to meet any requirements they need,” the airline said in a statement.
Flyafrica.com said passengers affected by the cancellations would be contacted by the airline and offered the following:
• A flight on an alternative airline on the same day of travel to minimise disruption to their travel plans; or
• A flight on flyafrica.com at a later date of their choice.
All affected passengers will also be offered a free flight on flyafrica.com.
