Seychelles-based Inter Island Boats has acquired a high-speed ferry for its Mahé-Praslin islands route.
The Cat Cocos - Isle of Mahé, which arrived last week, enables a one-hour journey between the islands. The vessel is the fourth ferry in the Cat Cocos fleet and can carry over 500 passengers.
“This is indeed a remarkable success story for the islands,” said Alain St.Ange, Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, speaking at the launching ceremony.
“It is our strong belief that this vessel will contribute to increasing tourism flux between our two islands and ultimately benefit the business of Praslin and La Digue operators,’’ said Guillaume Albert of Inter Island Boats.
