CONSERVATION International (CI), a US non-profit organisation that aims to protect biodiversity areas around the globe, is supporting the National Tourism Board in Madagascar by producing a community-based tourism directory.
The directory, which is part of a poverty alleviation and conservation initiative, will feature entries from local hotels, restaurants, local artisans, tour operators, local associations, and other players in the tourism industry.
“Our desire for this document was driven by research that demonstrated that operators interested in Madagascar did not have much information available to them about alternative, interesting cultural and conservation initiatives. This document is intended to bridge that gap,” says CI Senior Adviser – Ecotourism, Neel Inamdar.
Delivery of the new product is expected soon.
