The new luxury Mara Mara Tented Lodge has opened in the northern Serengeti, Tanzania.
Sales Director Nuria Panizo told Tourism Update that the lodge was close to the Mara River in the Kogatende Area – in the heart of the migration with an extraordinary wildlife diversity. “There are 16 tents with en-suite facilities, including family rooms. The lodge has lounges, restaurant, viewing deck and swimming pool.” Internet is also available.
The tents have been designed and decorated in a modern African style that creates a fresh and light ambience. All rooms feature a balcony with views of the Serengeti. One tent hosts the dining area, where evenings can be spent around the blazing camp fire.
The lodge can be accessed by road or air. There are several airstrips in the national park that receive schedule flights from Arusha, as well as charter flights.
Activities include early-morning balloon safaris.
Operational throughout the year, Mara Mara is owned and managed by Tanganyika Wilderness Camps (TWC). TWC offers a unique collection of permanent tented safari camps, mobile camping and lodges in Tanzania, with 11 tented camps and lodges in northern Tanzania in its portfolio.
