The Marasa Africa Hotel Group has refurbished three of its properties in Kenya: The Aberdare Country Club in Aberdare National Park; Mara Leisure Camp in the Masai Mara Game Reserve; and The Ark, Aberdare Country Club’s sister lodge.
The rooms, cottages and bathrooms at The Aberdare Country Club have all been given a tasteful modern, sophisticated look that still retains the essence of the British country manor.
Other areas completely refurbished areas are reception, the Lord Aberdare bar and the dining room. In addition, the nine-hole golf course was upgraded and the stables were completely redone.
At Mara Leisure Camp on the northern boundary of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, all the upholstery and furnishings within both the cottages and tents were upgraded to create a rustic, bush and safari feel with a modern touch.
All the cabin-style rooms and bathrooms at the Ark were brightened with a more pleasing, intimate decor choice. Significant work to the environment around the lodge was also done, including completely re-trenching the waterhole, as well as recreating the salt lick to ensure the highest number of animals are attracted.
