Namibia’s Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism is collaborating with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to assess Nkasa Rupara National Park for inclusion on the IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas. This international recognition is awarded to sites demonstrating effective conservation management and governance.
The assessment covers the park’s planning, sustainability and conservation outcomes. As part of the process, a validation visit by the Expert Assessment Group for Green List will take place from March 24-25.
Stakeholders and other interested parties are invited to provide input on the park’s management and conservation efforts. Feedback can be submitted via email to Leeverty Muyoba at leeverty@gmail.com and copied to Michael Sibalatani at naturesolutions@iway.na before April 10.
