Trafalgar Tours is launching new African programmes beginning in 2019. For the first time in 72 years, Trafalgar will be offering ten hand-crafted trips to nine countries in southern Africa.
Gavin Tollman, CEO of Trafalgar, says the company has noted that Africa is high on the wish list of the company’s clients. To fill this gap, Trafalgar’s new collection will visit South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania.
Tollman, who has a personal connection to Africa, having lived in South Africa, says: “It is my hope that by having an iconic brand like Trafalgar and the legacy of the Tollman family coming together as one, guests can experience this extraordinary continent in a powerful way and with absolute ease.”
New on Trafalgar’s 2019 Africa programme are:
- African Safari Adventure
- Best of South Africa
- Namibia Explorer
- Victoria Falls Experience
- Botswana Delta Experience
- Essence of South Africa
Teresa Richardson, Trafalgar South Africa Managing Director, says: “There is a boundless energy to Africa that is truly intoxicating,” adding: “In the spirit of celebrating the continent and its people, we’ve developed a programme packed with African experiences revealing the essence of each destination, whether it is through our efforts to connect travellers with locals, stay in locations that tell a unique story, make a difference or going beyond the icons and letting travellers dive into culture.”
Trafalgar, through its TreadRight foundation, has committed to investing in local communities and safeguarding the environment of the destinations it visits. In southern Africa, it has established relationships with the Wilderness Trust in Botswana, the Cape Leopard Trust, Endangered Wildlife Trust and the Bushmans Kloof Rock Art in South Africa.
