Augustine Tours, an African touring company based in Rwanda, recently introduced new tour packages and safari programmes to East African destinations.
The most popular thus far, is the seven-day small-group budget tour to Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda.
“We have launched the new East Africa packages to promote tourism in these countries, but this time as a region. Each country has something unique to offer, therefore one can now visit all three countries to experience the uniqueness of each and what they have in common,” said Kelly Dusabe, Reservations Manager at Augustine Tours.
Another reason, according to Dusabe, is to reduce the costs for travellers of having to fly into each country when an overland tour is possible, covering all three countries at an affordable rate.
In Uganda, guests will visit Bwindi National Park before they go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Mountain Forest.

In Rwanda, the itinerary includes the Kigali City Tour, Nyanza King’s Palace, the Rwanda Ethnographic Museum, the Presidential Palace Museum, and the Gisozi Genocide Memorial.

When in Burundi, guests will visit Karera Waterfalls, the source of the Nile, the Livingstone-Stanley Monument, Gitega National Museum, and Lake Tanganyika.

Accommodation includes Chez Lando Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda; Bakiga Lodge, Uganda; Credo Hotel, Rwanda; Safari Gate Hotel, Burundi.
Dusabe says this year’s promotion of East Africa will run until November, however the tours will continue next year. Augustine Tours plans to add new tours in 2019.
The company also offers tailor-made tours, based on clients’ requests. Dusabe told Tourism Update that other itineraries would soon be uploaded on to its website.
“Augustine Tours has been working with corporate and leisure travellers from different countries, however mainly those from South Africa, the US and UK since 2010,” added Dusabe, who said the company had offices in Rwanda and Burundi, and was hoping to open another one in Germany by October.
