Great Plains Conservation has announced it will close and revamp some of its luxury tented camps in the Okavango Delta.
According to a statement issued, by the Chief Marketing Officer, Hilton Walker, Zarafa Camp and the Zarafa Dhow Suite has closed for refurbishment. The revamp will cover refurbishing the camp and guest suites with new décor, adding a new wine cellar, and water and solar systems. The Zarafa Camp has four luxury tented guest suites with private pools. Zarafa Dhow Suite is an exclusive-use two-bedroom suite consisting of a shared lounge, dining and private pool including private game vehicle, guide and chef.
Both the camp and the suite are expected to re-open in March.
Selinda Explorers Camp will have a new kitchen built, a solar system, and completely new tent bathroom layouts, with each tent offering river-facing verandas. Selinda Explorers Camp is located in the private Selinda Reserve of northern Botswana. The camp accommodates a maximum of only ten guests and it’s built on the banks of Selinda Spillway.
Selinda Explorers Camp is expected to re-open in April.
Great Plains will also open two new camps, Okavango Explorers Camp and Sitatunga Private Island Camp, this year in Botswana.
