Sanctuary Tambarare will unveil a new two-bedroom private villa in Kenya’s Ol Pejeta Conservancy in July.
The villa will feature two en-suite bedrooms, an indoor and outdoor lounge and dining area, bar, private deck and boma, all with views of the surrounding plains. Meals are prepared by a private chef, with dining taking place in a tented area or al fresco under the African sky.
The camp currently offers 10 large luxury tents, each with a private veranda and en-suite bathrooms.
Activities include lion tracking, horse riding with rhinos, and private game drives to spot the Big Five. Sanctuary Tambarare opened in June last year in the 36 420-hectare Ol Pejeta Conservancy, just south of Mount Kenya National Park. The camp is easily accessible from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, with flights taking about 30-40 minutes, landing at either Nanyuki or Kamok airstrip. The drive from Nairobi takes between four and five hours.
