Durban saw the opening of its latest tourism attraction, GO WiLD, this weekend. Located at the Wavehouse, GO WiLD features uniquely crafted ‘fun’ zones for different ages.
This new venue will incorporate existing attractions, such as the Flowrider, where budding surfers can try and ride the waves, and the Supertubes, where kids and adults can enjoy water slides. But, GO WiLD also features some brand-new attractions such as an under-cover toddler play zone with slides, climbing activities and ball pools; a Splashpad, where kids can jump, splash and have fun in the water; and the Pumptrax, a new and unique skateboarding venue. The GO WiLD pumptrax uses a ‘pumping’ motion to propel a bicycle, skateboard or scooter forward.
Nick Leitch, Go WiLD creator, says the attraction was created with active consumers and travellers in mind. “Consumers want to do new exciting and entertaining things that bring fun into our lives; they want to feel alive instead of numb behind technology. Exercise and being outdoors has become fun and a novel way to be with friends or spend time with the family.”
