The Hide and Changa Safari Camp in Zimbabwe bid farewell to Sales and Marketing Manager, Gavin Rennie, who after more than eight years with The Hide, will further his career with Africa Albida Tourism from mid-April.
Rennie started at The Hide in 2006 having come from a professional cricketing background. During his time he focused primarily on sales and marketing.
“Naturally, we are sad that Gavin is leaving, but we also appreciate that his opportunities with The Hide are limited. Gavin remains a company director and shareholder and he will continue to add value to the business where possible,” said Angus Preston, Managing Director of The Hide.
Kelly Wood joins the team as Sales and Marketing Manager for The Hide and Changa Safari Camp. Wood has been involved in the industry for six years, having gained experience working in Thailand, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
“Kelly was the overwhelming favourite amongst a number of excellent candidates that we interviewed for this position. We believe she is very capable and well suited to take on this responsibility,” Preston said. “Kelly will assume many of Gavin’s responsibilities when she joins us at the beginning of March for a handover period with Gavin and the rest of the team.”
Prior to the handover, Rennie will be travelling to Europe early in March where he will represent The Hide and AAT at ITB, Berlin and Travelista, Italy.
Ross Kennedy, CEO of Africa Albida Tourism said Rennie’s experience, reputation and network were respected and well earned, locally, regionally and internationally. “Gavin joins us in the newly created role of Head of Sales, in which he will boost our highly regarded and well-known sales team, as well as complement the marketing and PR team headed up by Nommy Vuma.”
