Roddy and Camilla Meiring form part of the new management staff at Victoria Falls River Lodge. Roddy started his hospitality career at Meikles Hotel in Harare at the age of 17 and furthered his training through The Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town.

Camilla heads up Victoria Falls River Lodge food and beverage team and completed her tertiary education in Australia and then gained experience throughout the UK and Europe.

Jonathan Ellway is responsible for logistics at Victoria Falls River Lodge. Ellway has worked as General Manager at Masuwe Lodge, Matetsi Game Lodge, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and The Elephant Camp.

Desmond O’Connor has been appointed General Manager of the new Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence set to open in Cape Town in April.

O’Connor will be responsible for all operation aspects at the hotel including the efficient and profitable running of the property.

Prior to joining The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s Radisson Blu in Port Elizabeth in 2014, O’Connor completed a term of four years at the Three Cities Group and was also the General Manager of Mandela Rhodes Place.

“I have seen the development of this iconic building and its incredible architecture over the past year and look forward to hosting guests in a hotel that is truly reflective of modern guests’ needs,” said O’Connor.

Anita Umutoni has been appointed Deputy Manager at Bisate Lodge.

Renee Arendse has joined Centeq Events and will assist in the company’s re-branding and expansion of their services beyond event administration. Arendse has nine years’ experience in PCO management, project management, and administration.

Zimbabwe UNWTO candidate for Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Walter Mzembi, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Bureau of the African Union Specialised Technical Committee, in Lomé, Togo.
