When having a lot of fun, you’re usually said to be having a ‘whale of a time’ – but these amazing photos of elephants splashing about in the mud may make us rethink the expression.
Sent in by Janet Kleyn who manages the Photography Concession at Mashatu Game Reserve in the Northern Tuli block of Botswana, these images capture a fun side of Africa’s gentle giants.
“Our hide is probably best known for the many elephants that come in and drink. Due to COVID-19, the lodge has been closed since March and I’ve been locked down in South Africa. How I miss the elephants,” said Kleyn.
