The beginning of October was expected to see the roll-out of biometric visa applications and the regulation for visa applications to be made in person, although it appears not all SA’s missions abroad are implementing the new regulation (See Tourism Update October 2). Operators have already reported cancellations because of this new regulation.
At the same time, trips to sub-Saharan Africa have been cancelled because of fears of Ebola, despite there being no cases of Ebola in the region.
