The seventh annual Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF), which takes place at the Gaborone International Convention Centre from September 3 to 6, promises a deep delve into insights, networking and innovation.
The event is hosted and organised by Africa Tourism Partners (ATP) in conjunction with UN Tourism, Millvest Advisory, Botswana Tourism and BDO.
CEO of ATP, Kwakye Donkor, said this year's event promises to be a game-changer for the tourism industry, with a packed agenda featuring thought-provoking sessions, industry experts and unparalleled networking opportunities.
According to Donkor, the theme of the event, ‘Charting a new path forward for intra-Africa Travel, Tourism & Investments’, takes discussions from previous events a step further, by exploring ways to leverage opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area for the tourism sector.
On the first day, conference delegates will engage in high-level discussions with industry leaders, policymakers and investors as they explore strategies to accelerate Africa's tourism.
Day two will see delegates uncover the trends shaping the future of African tourism. “They will explore the impact of digital disruption, sustainability and innovation on the industry. And gain insights into emerging tourism segments like sports and blue economy. They will also discover how to leverage and unlock new markets,” elaborated Donkor.
The grand finale of ATLF 2024 is a celebration of the African tourism industry. The day will kick off with insightful panel discussions and keynote speeches from industry leaders. Delegates can also network with fellow attendees at the closing cocktail party, forging new connections and partnerships.
