KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced the addition of another extra direct flight between Amsterdam and Cape Town from January 10, 2025 until the end of the southern hemisphere summer season on March 30. After witnessing incredible demand, the additional weekly flight ups the service between the two cities to 10 times per week.
“We have seen a tremendous surge in demand for our flights to Cape Town, particularly during the summer season when travellers are eager to explore the city’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture,” said Wilson Tauro, Country Manager for Southern Africa at Air France-KLM.
Apart from Cape Town being a top destination for leisure and business travellers, the extra capacity additionally supports KLM’s commitment to meeting the needs of its South African customers while enhancing travel options between Europe and southern Africa.
“By increasing our frequency to 10 flights per week, we’re able to provide even more seamless connections for our customers, ensuring they can enjoy their journey with comfort, convenience and our world-class service,” said Tauro.
The new flight will operate on a Thursday, departing from Amsterdam at 17h45 in addition to the existing Thursday flight, which departs from Amsterdam at 09h10. Flights will continue to operate once daily on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and twice daily on Tuesdays and Sundays. The route is operated by KLM’s Boeing 777-300.
