Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape will undertake significant refurbishments and upgrades to its lodges during 2018.

Affected lodges will be closed to minimise disruption at operating lodges and has been structured to maximise room capacity. The closures are also scheduled to coincide with the low season and part of the early high season, to offer as much availability as possible.

Closing dates are as follows: Sarili Lodge, from March to April 2018; Riverdene Lodge, from May until the end of September 2018; Eagles Crag Lodge, from April until the end of July 2018; and Long Lee Manor, from mid-July until mid-December 2018.

Lobengula Lodge and Bayethe Tented Lodge will remain open during 2018 and the Explorer Camp will continue operating seasonally as always.
