The Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (Satsa) has announced this year’s conference programme with various topics to be discussed.
With only two months to go until the annual conference, taking place at The Boardwalk Hotel in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Satsa has consolidated its bond with key partner, South African Tourism (SA Tourism).
The conference is themed ‘Transforming Geographical Spread’, and officially opens on Tuesday (July 24) with a ‘conversation’ with the Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom. This entails Satsa members forwarding all questions to the Minister ahead of time, as opposed to ad hoc questions being fielded from the floor. The minister will select six of the questions which will be answered on the day.
Questions can be sent to Kim Emmanuel at Satsa: communications@satsa.co.za – closing date for submission is July 20.
Further highlights this year will include:
• The vexed issue of pricing
• Making sense of transformation – what does it mean for SATSA members?
• What role does infrastructure and product development play in geographical spread?
• POPI Act and EU GDPR
• Future of road/trade shows
• SA Tourism’s Global Trade Strategy
• How to sell southern and Eastern Africa better
• Unlocking the potential of the Eastern Cape
