Following strikes from several Air France workers’ unions on April 3, which saw the airline operate only 75% of its overall flight schedule, further strikes are planned for April 7, 10, and 11.
The statement on the Air France website says the possible impact on flights on April 7, 10, and 11 is unknown at this time. “As soon as we have a more accurate estimate of the number of employees on strike and the impact on our operations, our flight schedule will be changed accordingly and made public the day before your departure.”
Air France previously announced rebooking options for flights booked on April 3 and 7, and has now updated these to include flights booked on April 10 and 11.
Tuesday-Wednesday, April 10-11:
At no extra cost, Air France tickets issued on or before April 2, for a flight operated by Air France or Joon on April 10 or 11 can be postponed between April 5 and 15. Due to strike action on April 7, Air France recommends tickets not be rebooked for this date.
Further, the country of destination or origin can be changed, the flight cancelled, or postponed until a date after April 15. In these cases Air France will provide a non-refundable voucher, valid for one year, that can be used on Air France, KLM or HOP! flights.
Air France will send passengers an SMS or an email to confirm the potential impact of their journey, on the day before departure. For this reason Air France asks that passengers make sure their personal contact details (mobile number, email address) are up-to-date in the ‘Your reservations’ section on its website, or on its mobile app.
Air France offers a number of flights into and out of various destinations across Africa. More information on flight affected can be found here.
