THE Tanzanian government will launch for the first time a US$1m TV advertising campaign specifically targeting the United States. It will focus on Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and Serengeti. Tanzania has set itself a tourism growth target of 13% a year until 2010. It had 612 000 visitors in 2006.
The campaign runs at the same time the Tanzanians are trying to persuade black Americans to invest in tourism infrastructure.
