Thompsons Africa now offers 11- and 14-night Namibian self-drive holidays, starting and ending in Windhoek.
Guests will be met by a Thompsons Africa guest service officer, who will provide advice and tips on self-driving in Namibia. The first night is spent at the Olive Grove Guest House, a small, up-market establishment close to the city centre in Windhoek,
A night is spent at Kalahari Anib Lodge or Kalahari Farmhouse, in the Kalahari Desert. Here, guests can join walks or an afternoon game drive to experience the glowing red sands. They can visit the nearby Self-sufficiency Centre, or join a trip to the Gondwana Kalahari Park.
On the 14-night option, two nights are then spent at Canyon Roadhouse or Canyon Village and one night at Klein Aus Vista Desert Horse. Both options then include two nights at Namib Desert Lodge and two nights at Central Guest House in Swakopmund. This is followed by one night at Damara Mopane Lodge, where each chalet has its own vegetable garden and is a 100km drive from the popular Twyfelfontein rock engravings. Three nights are then spent at Etosha Safari Lodge, a base from which to explore the Etosha National Park. The final night is again spent at Olive Grove Guest House in Windhoek.
