The Vaal Triangle is set to host the Rocking the Vaal 2025 festival on March 29 at Emerald Resort and Casino. Known for breaking world records and fostering community spirit, this year’s event promises to be the biggest yet with a bold attempt to create the world’s longest sosatie as its centrepiece.
Rocking the Vaal 2025 will feature a star-studded lineup of South African artists including BlackByrd, Droomsindroom, Piesangskille and Appel. The festival aims to combine record-breaking attempts with live music, family friendly entertainment and a celebration of local culture.
Building on the success of last year’s event, which drew thousands of attendees and broke two Guinness World Records for the largest potjiekos and the world’s longest crocheted scarf, Rocking the Vaal continues to unite the region in a display of creativity and camaraderie. Last year’s achievements benefitted the community directly: the scarf warmed 35 000 people and the potjiekos fed thousands in need.
“This festival is about more than breaking records; it’s about showcasing the incredible spirit of the Vaal and connecting people from all walks of life,” said Jaco Verwey, President of the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce.
Rocking the Vaal’s community impact remains a key focus with proceeds going towards initiatives that uplift the Vaal Triangle. The event provides sponsors and partners with significant opportunities for brand visibility, on-site activation and community engagement.
