The Rwanda Development Board – through its Visit Rwanda campaign – has launched a campaign to showcase the country’s best destinations and attractions.
The Rwanda Nziza Tourism Campaign, championed by digital content creators IMAGE Rwanda, allows prospective travellers to explore and discover rare scenes of the country that showcase the Rwanda of today.
The initiative provides a one-stop platform for local photographers and visual content creators to show the ‘unseen’ Rwanda to the world. The Nziza project involves a team of more than 100 native storytellers from photographers, videographers, and digital content curators, to researchers, historians, tour guides and conservationists.
The project focuses on two main phases. The production phase includes scouting and content gathering and will run from December 2020 to May 2021. The post-production phase will include publishing, exhibitions and commercialising the content. This will conclude at the end of 2021.
The content gathered during the first phase will be featured in exhibitions and virtual reality technology experiences, both local and international. Plans also include the publication of an anthology book.
