The time is ripe for Southern Africans to work with their East African colleagues to attract more tourists to Africa with a combined offering, according to the chairman of the Tanzania Local Tour Operators association, Samuel Diah.
He is leading a delegation of some 50 members to South Africa to explore opportunities at WTM Africa in Cape Town.
“We are getting more enquires where people visiting East Africa also want to carry on to South Africa,” he told Tourism Update when members of the delegation called at the SATSA stand.
“Likewise, people who enjoy the culture and adventure of Southern Africa can have an enriched experience if they see parts of East Africa on their African journey.”
The delegation consists of the complete cross section of the industry from climbing specialists to tented camp owners and hotels.
