Tourvest launches Guide Academy
Tourvest Destination Management has launched a Guide Academy that allows students to become fully accredited Culture Tourist Guides able to guide in any South African province. The Tourvest Destination Management Guide Academy is a training facility that combines the theoretical understanding of tourist guiding with a practical component that is directly linked to real-world operations. The facility gives students the opportunity to travel with expert guides and receive on-the-job training and mentoring whilst they complete their curriculum. The Tourvest Destination Management Guide Academy has partnered with industry-leading training providers to offer a 10-month cultural guiding course to eight learners.

Wetu plans global expansion
Wetu is preparing to introduce its brand to the world at Indaba. Following success in Africa, the company will continue to expand its presence on the continent. Wetu is looking forward to engaging with new audiences in person, to meet members of the global trade and teach them how Wetu is changing the way the travel industry sells. Wetu will be advocating the importance of content in travel, how to manage and showcase it in ways the modern traveller demands to consume it (such as iBrochures and interactive itineraries with add-on chat functionality), and how to win back time with better business practices.
