ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking to recruit a Legal Counsel with a proven record of client service and practical problem-solving approach to support our business and be a member of our Group Legal team.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable with commercial law, with an emphasis on tourism and hospitality related issues with a global mindset and solutionist approach to challenges. They will engage with our various businesses and be exposed to a myriad of industries and territories in which we operate from foreign exchange to hotels and lodges, all that form part of the Tourvest Integrated Tourism Group.
We are a small and nimble team with high involvement in transactions from a legal perspective. The majority of commercial related work is done in-house with a limited reliance on external counsel depending on the matter requirements.
Responsibilities:
Draft, review and assist with the negotiation of various commercial contracts;
Draft and drive transactional agreements including Share Purchase Agreements, Heads of Agreement, Sale of Business Agreements;
Comfort working in foreign jurisdictions with an appetite to learn and apply knowledge gained frequently, and updating the business accordingly;
Advise and attend to dispute resolution matters;
Conduct legal research, draft opinions, and provide legal advice to the greater Tourvest Group where required;
Assist with the implantation of contract management software
Create and communicate a plan to align all offices and ensure administrational consistency
Create and distribute contract templates and checklists for all commercial contracts for all supplier services ensuring uniformity whilst accounting for necessary regional variations.

To build relationships with Tourvest divisions
Provide support, guidance and time to help colleagues and their work
Effectively communicate and implement best practice policies and procedures
Flexibility to assist colleagues out of normal office hours, when and if required
Travel when required.
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT:
Continuously develop product knowledge, visit our offices where possible and participate in events where feasible.
REPORTING:
Continuously update and keep abreast legal matters in which Tourvest is a party to;
ADMINISTRATION:
Full understanding and follow-through of all divisional procedures and policies
Enhance existing procedures and processes
Submit timeous reports as requested and adhere to deadlines
Maintain complete confidentiality with all company information
