The tourism fraternity has been warned against fake Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) booking agents.

NWR said in a statement that it had been brought to its attention that individuals purporting to be NWR booking agents were leading customers to believe that they were booking accommodation through NWR, but no bookings were made and the fraudsters then disappeared with the money.

Zelna Hengari, MD of NWR, has warned tourists to be aware, and recommended making bookings through the official booking channels or registered tour operators.

Namibia Wildlife Resorts is a state-owned enterprise, mandated to run the tourism facilities within the protected areas of Namibia.
