Against the backdrop of South Africa’s hosting of the BRICS Summit, the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) has announced the appointment of Blacky Komani as Chairman of its Board, effective August 1.
Komani, currently the Deputy CEO of the Tourvest Group, was elected Chairman at a Board meeting held on July 18, and welcomes as his deputies June Crawford, CEO of the Board of Airline Representatives of South Africa, and Ravi Nadasen, COO of Tsogo Sun.
Komani will replace outgoing Board Chairman, Tito Mboweni, whose term ends on July 31. “On behalf of the Board we would like to thank all the members of the Board that voted for us, because of the confidence they have in our abilities as directors and leaders. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the outgoing Board chairman, Mr Tito Mboweni, whose term ends at the end of July and the previous Board for the work they have done; we will certainly pick up from where they left off.”
The Board welcomes the new appointments, and looks forward to the new members’ contribution in taking TBCSA to greater heights, given their experience and knowledge of the tourism sector.
