The annual Zambezi Lager Victoria Falls carnival, which attracts more than half a million people from the country’s major tourist source markets globally, has already been oversubscribed, with tickets for the event’s flagship bush party already sold out.
Local Organising Committee member, Emmanuel Tivatyi, says the resort town is now bracing itself for Africa’s biggest end-of-year celebration. Tivatyi says tickets for the famous bush party are already sold out, as 5 000 visitors are expected in Victoria Falls to attend the three-day fiesta from December 29 to 31.
It is that time of the year, he continues, when Victoria Falls will be the central attraction, as the town hosts one of Africa’s biggest year-end events. “Preparations are going well and we look forward to a sixth successful edition of the festival,” says Tivatyi.
The line-up of artists performing at this year’s festival includes Lady Zamar, Black Motion, Freshly Ground and DJ Prince Kaybee. The bush party involves, amongst other activities, the transfer of visitors by train from the town. The train stops at a bush location in the national park for a memorable night with some of the veteran DJs providing entertainment on and off the locomotive.
The three-day event will end with the unity concert to be held on the final day as carnival enthusiasts come together to count down to 2019 in style.
