A new tour operator, Crocodile Pools River Safaris, has opened in Botswana, south of Gaborone.
Mike Brook, Managing Director, told Tourism Update: “Crocodile Pools River Safaris is the only operator offering boat safaris opportunity in southern Botswana, and is only a 15-minute drive from the capital, Gaborone. No need to travel 800km to the north to see crocodiles and beautiful birdlife – a boat tour of a majestic 4km stretch of the Notwane River will provide you with a unique wildlife photographic experience,” said Brook.
The pontoon boats used are operated by experienced and knowledgeable tourist guides, are all driven by solar electric power, and are quiet and pollution free. Cruises are typically two and a half hours long, and are offered either in the morning or afternoon.
There is a gift shop and café for guests to enjoy a snack or a drink while waiting for, or returning from, a boat cruise.
The area offers the best bird sightings, and visitors will also be able to view among others, crocodiles, kudus, jackals, hyenas, baboons, warthogs and the Southern African python.
