OurAfrica.Travel2020 is an online event that was launched to fill the void left by the cancellation of all African trade shows this year.

The event is scheduled to take place from August 13-29, and accommodates different time zones by scheduling according to geographical region. Virtual meetings will be pre-scheduled, with one-on-one experiences with African specialists from around the world.

The platform has a user-friendly appointment calendar for booking and confirming virtual meetings between tour operators, travel agencies and MICE organisations. Exhibitors and buyers have the opportunity to be introduced to new markets and products via a matchmaking system based on their profiles.

The team of travel industry experts behind OurAfrica.Travel2020 are Alison Hunt, Owner, and Rudi Wagenaar, Sales and Marketing Manager of Inspirational Places; and Director of Atmosphere Marketing, Storm Napier.

“This forum has been created as a gathering of the most passionate, determined and resilient people across the travel industry. In the wake of the pandemic, we want to re-unite, re-connect and re-commit by establishing new relationships and help exhibitors and buyers to do business,” said Hunt.

Online calendars for booking appointments open on August 1 and exhibitors will be able to upload marketing and browse buyers.
