Travel is “near normal”, report holidaymakers who are returning to Canada from South Africa.
A Canadian holidaymaker who spent three weeks in South Africa said the exemption from quarantine for fully vaccinated Canadians was “working like a charm” when he returned last week.
This is his account:
“It took only a couple of minutes on our return to Toronto to get processed. We had to show we were fully vaccinated as well as the negative result of a rapid PCR test that we took as we checked in at Johannesburg airport.
“We flew on Delta Air Lines tickets to South Africa on codeshare flights with KLM and returned with Air France. We were even able to leave the airport in Paris for my fiancée to realise a dream of visiting the Eiffel Tower. Before boarding, we had to show the airline the results of the PCR test but, all in all, the additional COVID protocols for fully vaccinated passengers is almost painless.”
From September 7, Canada plans to extend its exemption from quarantine to all fully vaccinated foreign nationals, including South Africans. Click here for details.
