Pure-Travel continues to grow its product portfolio despite the challenging tourism environment. Whilst travel has largely been on the backburner for many South Africans, Pure-Travel has been working hard behind the scenes to collate and create suitable product for the South African consumer once travel picks up.
The first part of the growth plan was the creation of Pure-Travel Leisure, the new GSA (General Sales Agent) arm of the business. Pure-Travel leisure focuses on selling various international and regional journeys to the South African market. Globus Family of Brands is a world leader in coach touring and river cruising to some of the world’s most captivating destinations, while Drifters Adventure Tours is the leader in wildlife adventure tours in Southern and Eastern Africa.
In addition, Pure-Travel has launched a new niche scuba travel brand; Pure-Travel Scuba. There has been a growing demand for tailored scuba travel packages where clients can join like-minded travellers to destinations such as the Red Sea, Maldives, and attend the world-famous Sardine Run in South Africa. All these tours will be accompanied by a Pure-Travel Scuba Dive Master who will travel with the group for the duration of the tour.
“Whilst skiing is no newcomer to the Pure-Travel product portfolio, we have utilised this time to analyse the ski product we offer. With over 25 years’ experience in selling skiing to the South African market, this knowledge has been crucial to developing a product that is perfect for our ski clients and the new travel environment. Together with improving the offering we already have in Austria, France and Italy, we have also contracted a new ski resort in Bellwald, Switzerland,” says Janine Pienaar, GM Product & Business Development at Pure-Travel.
“Bellwald has been a personal favourite ski resort, frequented yearly by our CEO, Martin Wiest, and his family. Located in Goms, Switzerland, Bellwald is the perfect family-friendly resort, offering beginner-friendly slopes, alternating with steeper slopes for the more experienced skier. This pretty village allows you to ski out of your hotel, with ski lifts just minutes away taking you 2 560 metres above sea level to admire the beautiful views of the Matterhorn, the Mischabel Group and the Weisshorn.
“We are thrilled that travel is opening up to South Africans, and look forward to working closely with the travel trade to sell our new products to them. Our aim is to create happy, lasting travel memories for our clients, now more so than ever.”
