Preparations are in high gear for the fifth annual Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) and Awards, which will see industry leaders gathering at the Gaborone International Convention Centre in Botswana to explore ways of advancing entrepreneurship and empowerment of women and youth in tourism.
Taking place from October 24-26 the event, organised by the Botswana Tourism Agency and Africa Tourism Partners in collaboration with the UN World Tourism Organization and accounting firm BDO, will be attended by over 350 delegates from more than 30 countries, including government ministers, policy-makers and captains of industry.
The Forum – themed ‘Igniting Intra-Africa tourism through inclusive intra-Africa trade, partnerships and Investments’ – will pay particular attention to facilitating conversations and partnerships with the main objective of encouraging intra-Africa travel through intra-Africa trade, partnerships and investments.
ATLF 2022 will host Africa's tourism private-sector apex bodies for a roundtable discussion. This will be attended by leaders and experts of various national tourism organisations and key stakeholders in the travel, tourism and related industries.
When driving African travel and tourism it is important that the aviation industry sits at the table. The Africa's Travel, Tourism and Aviation CEOs’ & Executives’ Forum taking place on the margins of ATLF will provide professional insights on the role of digitalisation and technological innovation in driving domestic and regional tourist arrivals and revenues in Africa.
Additionally, ministerial talks will focus on ensuring affordable regional air connectivity by advocating for African counties to unblock dialogue.
