The South African National Convention Bureau (SANCB), the business events unit of South African Tourism is the official African destination partner of ASSOCIATIONWORLD. The collaboration was announced during the Brussels International Association Forum (BIAF) at the Cardo Brussels Hotel in Belgium on December 2 and 3 last year.
BIAF has firmly positioned itself as a premier event and knowledge-sharing hub for international and European associations, non-profit and non-governmental organisations, federations, foundations, societies, association management companies and meeting planners. Held in Brussels, one of the world’s flagship host destinations for professional associations and non-profit organisations, the boutique forum creates a collaborative, inspiring and supportive environment for association leaders and executives.
For association and non-profit leaders seeking to keep informed about trends and developments shaping the global association landscape, BIAF has become an unmissable event for professional growth and networking.
As a participant in the fourth edition of BIAF, the SANCB engaged in professional and development sessions, interactive workshops, peer-to-peer exchanges and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The platform also provided an opportunity to build meaningful professional relationships with key stakeholders in the global association space.
Speaking at the forum, Kai Troll, President of ASSOCIATIONWORLD, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with SAT as the first destination marketing organisation to partner with us from Africa. It is a great step towards diversifying our partnerships and collaborating with a leading convention bureau representing the African continent.
“The upcoming Meetings Africa show on February 24-26 is one of the highlights of the MICE industry in Africa. We look forward to connecting with other international association representatives there.”
This milestone highlights South Africa’s growing prominence as a global destination for business events, showcasing its capacity to host and collaborate on platforms of international significance.
