Experiential eco-tourism operator Wild Expeditions will open an exclusive-use, seasonal camp within its private concession in Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park on May 1.
Open during the prime game viewing months between May and the end of November, the Muddy Teak camp will be set among teak and ordeal trees on the banks of a natural waterhole around 1km from Wild Expeditions’ Camp Hwange.
Available only for exclusive-use bookings, the camp will feature four tented rooms including one family room. Each tent is raised on timber decks and has an indoor and outdoor shower. The camp’s main area, also on raised decking, has a swimming pool, firepit and day loungers – all orientated towards the waterhole.
Rates include a private vehicle and professional guide and guests can choose flexible meal and activity times.
The concession is within the central part of Hwange with exceptional dry season viewing of large elephant and buffalo herds, lions and a variety of plains game. Other carnivores such as leopard, hyena, cheetah and wild dog are regularly seen.
Wild Expeditions strongly emphasises walking safaris and wildlife tracking and is committed to sustainable tourism and conservation, actively supporting the preservation of the park and local community initiatives.
