Tourism Update’s latest poll has revealed that 65% of the industry’s high season bookings are higher when compared with last year.
The poll results indicated that 40% of readers received more bookings (less than 25% more), while 25% said they had received an increase in bookings of more than 25% -- giving a total of 65% that improved on last year’s bookings.
Only 19% has fewer bookings than last year, while 16% have noted the same amount of bookings.
New road legislation to deter travellers from visiting SA?
Onne Vegter, Chairman of SATSA’s Transport Committee, told Tourism Update that the South African Road Accident Fund’s new draft bill which proposes to exclude foreign nationals from claiming compensation from the fund, might cause self-drive tourists to rethink visiting the country.
