Ashtons Tours, Safaris & Shuttles has launched a new-look website that offers online functionality to the travel trade for its two scheduled Kruger Shuttle services.
Availability for the shuttle services can be checked and then booked online at STO rates when the client is ready to confirm. “It’s a simple, quick and efficient system for busy members of the travel trade who need to provide immediate answers and confirmations to their clients,” says Andrew Iles, MD of Ashtons. “Agent login details and STO rates are available on request.”
The Kruger Shuttle: Hoedspruit is a daily return service between OR Tambo and seven Hoedspruit-area locations. It has already transferred over 50 000 passengers since its launch in 2010.
Operations on the second shuttle, the Kruger Shuttle: Hazyview, commence on November 1, but bookings are open. It will be a daily return service between OR Tambo and Hazyview, Protea Hotel Kruger Gate and Skukuza.
“Social media has become a significant tool in reaching the relevant target market for private transfer and scheduled shuttle services,” comments Iles. “Existing and potential clients are increasingly using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to speak about their travel experiences and requirements and to seek service providers that are affordable, efficient and reputable, even if they book via a tour operator.”
Iles believes that social media proactivity must be backed up by a website that offers online availability and booking functionality. “More and more clients are either booking direct with service providers or via members of the travel trade who have a strong online and social media presence, which highlights the importance of a progressive digital marketing plan for everyone in the marketing and supply chain.”
