Asilia is to open Kokoko Camp in Ruaha on Tanzania’s Mwagusi River in July.
The camp's minimalist design places nature at the forefront, offering an intimate and exclusive safari experience. Comprising only three tents accommodating up to six guests, the camp is hosted by a top Asilia guide and is available for exclusive-use bookings.
The luxury tents feature ensuite bathrooms, an outdoor bucket shower and a weatherproof cover that can be folded back for stargazing. Meals are prepared on an open fire, and guests dine alfresco.
Limited WiFi is available, and activities include day and night drives, star-gazing, walking safaris, and hot-air balloon rides. Kokoko Camp operates seasonally, closing from November until the end of June, and reopens in July when the park has dried up and temperatures have dropped slightly.
The camp is a 45-minute drive from Msembe airstrip and the transfer from Dar es Salaam takes an hour and a half.
