For one week in late October, Cape Town will become one of the greenest business cities on earth as the city joins with the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and a range of partner organisations for Cape Town Green Week.
Hundreds of financiers, investors, business leaders and property professionals from around the world and across Africa, joined by green groups, will gather at the Cape Town International Conference Centre from October 19-23 for a series of events that will explore how a green approach to business can create jobs, protect the environment and build better, fairer communities with towns and cities that work.
Highlights of the week will include:
• UNEP FI Global Roundtable
• Pan African CEO business meeting
• 2009 African Business Awards
• The Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) Annual Convention and Exhibition
• The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) report
In addition to these core events the following initiatives will be launched:
• The city of Cape Town’s Green Building Guidelines
• The Cape Town Partnership’s Green City Programme
• Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC) will be announcing its ‘Nurture Our World’
• The Africa investor Investment and Business Leaders Awards 2009
