Drifters Adventours, a Division of Tourvest, has introduced a new product this year: Enfield Motorcycle tours.
The tour is designed around the experience of riding a Royal Enfield motorcycle while taking in South African history and the country’s diverse cultures.
The tour follows the wagon tracks of the early diamond prospectors and the British Army’s advance to relieve the siege of Kimberley in 1899.
The first tours will depart in October. Each client will be supplied a motorcycle and a Drifters truck will follow as a support vehicle.
The first itinerary is a 10-day tour from Cape Town to Kimberley, where clients will ride through the Cape winelands and mountains to the plains of the Karoo and through the Kalahari bushveld. It includes nine nights’ accommodation, meals, entry fees, guides and guest speakers, wine tasting and game drives.
During the tour, clients will visit Table Mountain, the winelands in Stellenbosch, Matjiesfontein, Seweweekspoort Pass, Meiringspoort, the Great Karoo, Belmont Station House and battle site, the Big Hole in Kimberley and Doornbuilt Concentration Camp site.
