Halisi Camps from Tanzania, has officially opened its Kilimanjaro Halisi Retreat on the foothills of Africa’s tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro.
Halisi Camps Director, Mark Donnelly, said Kilimanjaro Halisi Retreat was officially unveiled last month.
Donnelly says Kilimanjaro Halisi offers seven luxury en-suite rooms for single, double or twin occupancy. He adds that the rooms spread over three buildings with a family house also available with three bed rooms.
The rooms have King-size beds with deluxe mattresses and the property has solar heated water and electricity. On site staff are able to serve guests 24 hours a day.
Kilimanjaro Halisi Retreat is located on a 350-acre organic coffee estate at an altitude of 1 400m above sea level. The retreat is strategically positioned on the Machare Estate, sandwiched between Moshi and Mweka Gate, the main route for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
“Kilimanjaro Halisi is perfect for acclimatisation before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, but is also excellent for those, who would like to spend a day or two relaxing in a cool and lush environment,” said Donnelly. “We concentrate on doing the simple things well. Great home-made food prepared by our two chefs as well as friendly service.”
Other activities include safaris, trekking, cultural tours, nature walks with support from experienced guides as well as guided tours of the tea plantations and the coffee groves and village visits. Guests can also venture out on unguided walks through the estate, which is home to a 100-acre nature reserve, where they can swim in the rivers and watch the wildlife.
