A new market showcasing Cape Town’s best cuisines, stylish designs and crafts, artisanal goodies and fashion, and much more, has launched in the Mother City.
The ‘My Cape Town Market Green Point’ kicked off on Sunday (April 30), and will take place again this Sunday (May 7). The market is hosted at the Old Bowling Green on Helen Suzman Boulevard between 08h00 and 17h00.
The free-entry market includes food trucks, live entertainment and shopping (arts and crafts etc.), and a children’s play zone.
The City’s Mayoral Member for Economic Growth, Alderman James Vos, came up with the concept of the market to boost economic opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
“It is the perfect place to connect local traders with a new market of consumers. Small businesses fuel Cape Town’s economic innovation and prosperity. One thing is for sure, entrepreneurs breathe life into the community. It's a marketplace of tens of thousands of products and services,” said Vos.
