Magari Lodge has opened in the private Jembisa Game Reserve in the Waterberg in South Africa’s Limpopo province.
Situated above the bend of the Palala River, the small, private lodge offers a flexible tailor-made safari itinerary which is idea for couples looking for a romantic escape, small groups, or family gatherings. Children over the age of six are welcome, and a tailored children’s programme is on offer.
Six rooms sleep 10 to 12 guests, and are available on both an exclusive and non-exclusive booking basis. Three of the rooms have outdoor decks with views of the valley and hills; two have outdoor showers with views; and two are garden rooms.
Facilities include a campfire, sunbathing terrace, swimming pool and lookout area. All meals are freshly prepared by the chef, using local, seasonal ingredients; and a variety of exciting dining locations at the lodge and in the bush are available.
A wide variety of activities are available including day and night game drives – night drives are popular for spotting animals such as bush babies, porcupines, aardvark, caracals, hippo, leopards and brown hyenas. Other activities include guided bush walks, wildlife camera trap setting, bird watching, camp-outs under the stars, mountain biking, child and teen tracker programmes, swimming, fishing, visits to Bushman painting and Iron Age sites on the reserve, local art and curio shopping and massage treatments.
