The investigation into allegations laid against SA Tourism CEO, Sisa Ntshona – which saw the CEO placed on cautionary suspension in April – has finally been concluded.
“The forensic investigation into allegations made via the whistleblowing line, against SA Tourism CEO, Mr Sisa Ntshona, has been concluded,” said Pam Yako, Chairperson of SA Tourism. “The Board has received a draft report from the forensic auditors and is currently reviewing its findings.”
Four months have passed since Ntshona was placed on cautionary suspension, with the tourism body remaining silent on the nature of the allegations and the progress of the investigation until Wednesday, July 3, when the Board received the report. After its review, it will report to the recently appointed Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane.
His spokesperson says Ntshona has, to date, been kept in the dark as to the nature of the allegations, but is anticipating some type of feedback from SA Tourism by the end of this month.
Tourism Update will keep readers updated as the story unfolds.
