The Four Seasons group and Albwardy Investment have unveiled plans for the Four Seasons Resort Zanzibar along the captivating Pongwe coastline.
This luxury beachfront property is poised to be a standalone vacation destination or a perfect complement to the Tanzanian safari experience, marking Four Seasons' second venture there.
Albwardy Investment is already associated with various Four Seasons properties worldwide, including in Buenos Aires, Hoi An, Johannesburg, Serengeti, Seychelles, and Desroches Island.
Covering a 126-acre beachfront expanse, the Four Seasons Resort Zanzibar will feature 60 private villas, each with one to three bedrooms. The interiors will be crafted by MOMA and eco.id, and every villa will offer views of the Indian Ocean.
The resort's culinary offerings will include five dining outlets, featuring a signature seafood restaurant, a Mediterranean all-day dining venue, a Levantine grill, a poolside bar and grill, and a lobby lounge and bar. Additional amenities include a spa and gym, a kids’ club, and versatile meeting and event spaces.
Bart Carnahan, Four Seasons’ President of Global Business Development, said: “It’s an honour to partner with Albwardy Investment on this exceptional project in Zanzibar. Together, our shared vision for creating best-in-class experiences will soon introduce a new Four Seasons resort to a destination luxury travellers already know and love. With this incredible island’s dynamic character and beauty on display, we look forward to welcoming guests as they discover a new side of Tanzania alongside the commitment to genuine care and service of Four Seasons.”
To champion the preservation of Zanzibar’s natural habitat, the resort will house a Discovery Centre with on-site conservationists, advocating for responsible tourism, wildlife protection, sustainability, and community partnerships.
Ali Saeed Juma Albwardy, Chairman of Albwardy Investment, emphasised the opportunity to showcase the island’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage while enhancing the region’s vibrant hospitality landscape.
“In partnership with Four Seasons, we have successfully curated a portfolio of unique travel experiences around the world, always honouring the distinct spirit of every location and the legendary service that has earned it a longstanding global reputation in luxury hospitality.
“There is a tremendous opportunity to do the same in Zanzibar, and our new resort will highlight the island’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage while enriching the region’s vibrant hospitality landscape.”
Situated just 23 miles off Tanzania’s coast, Four Seasons Resort Zanzibar will offer convenient access to Kilimanjaro International Airport, with Zanzibar International Airport facilitating daily flights to various international destinations.
