For an interesting addition to a Garden Route itinerary, Café Gannet restaurant in Mossel Bay has introduced its Inverroche Gin School.
Visitors will have the opportunity to craft their own unique bottle of SA gin, sample gins from Inverroche – the first local gin produced in SA – and learn more about the local fynbos. The experience will also teach guests about the history and origins of gin, the distilling process, and how to go about designing an original gin.
Gin and food pairings are also offered daily, highlighting either local ingredients or traditional meals.
The school is in the Old Post Office Tree Square, neighbouring the Dias Museum and Protea Hotel by Marriott Mossel Bay. Classes are offered twice daily, and can accommodate from one to 36 guests at a time. Bookings for individuals can be made on the day, but earlier bookings are recommended for larger groups.
