Tourism Update readers believe that ‘greenwashing’ – a term describing deceptive ways to persuade the public that an organisation’s aims, products and policies are environmentally friendly – is on the rise.
In our latest poll, almost half (46%) of respondents indicated that they had experienced an increase in greenwashing.
Only 10% said they had experienced a decrease, while the remaining 44% were ‘unsure’.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday (February 8) at 19h00.
SONA provides the President with an opportunity to speak to the nation on the general state of South Africa, to reflect on a wide range of political, economic and social matters within the domestic and global contexts, to account to the nation on the work of government and to set out government’s programme of action.
