Lufthansa is temporarily altering its Frankfurt-Cape Town schedule for operational reasons, according to a media release.
Until June 30, the airline will fly only twice a week to the Mother City, instead of three times.
LH576 departs Frankfurt at 22h15 on Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving in Cape Town at 10h00 the following day.
LH577 departs Cape Town at 17h45 on Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Frankfurt at 05h40 the following day.
Dr André Schulz, LH GM Southern Africa and East Africa, said in the release that new regulations for travellers entering and transiting Germany had come into effect, and this meant that fully vaccinated or recovered people were now exempt from quarantine and testing. This does not apply to travellers from virus variant areas such as South Africa.
